Create A Position In ServeWire VES

Modified on Thu, 1 May at 1:00 PM

Navigate to Positions.  Here you will see a listing of all the positions you create.  There are two ways to create positions, either bulk import (uploading a batch file), or one by one.

Uploading a CSV file will create all positions and update Position Settings and Position Details, but you will still need to edit each position to configure the Position Qualifications.  To use the bulk import function, download the Sample CSV File and use it as your template.  Create one row for each position.  Once all columns are updated, upload the CSV by selecting 'Select CSV' and select the file from your computer, then click the 'Upload' button.  All positions listed in your CSV will then show on the table as per the example above.

Position Settings

Under Position Settings:

  • enter the name of the position
  • check the 'Listed' box to show the position to congregants
  • check the 'Inactive' box to archive the position
  • Select Automatic for positions that are automatically filled when someone applies for the position, or Application Required if there is an approval process.
  • Enter the number of positions available for this role.
  • Click the 'Save' button to proceed.

Position Details

All fields under position details are open text fields.

  • Campus:  Enter the name of the campus where this position is needed.  If all, then enter All, or Various.
  • Department:  Specify the department responsible for this position.
  • Leader Name:  Enter the name of the person who oversees this position.
  • Leader Email:  Enter the email address for the leader.
  • Serving Time:  Intended to provide some details on when this position is required (ie. every Tuesday at 7:00 pm).
  • Description:  Provide sufficient details on the requirements of this position.

Position Qualifications

The Position Qualifications settings are a powerful automation feature to qualify people for positions based on how they answered the test.  This feature calculates the 'Best Match' (percentage) for each individual to each position.  Watch this video to see how to setup qualifications.

Position Applications

Once your positions are posted and people complete the test, they will see the listing of positions and can apply to any position.  Each application will be listed under Position Applications.
