User Accounts and User Levels

Modified on Fri, 2 May at 8:22 PM

There are 3 basic user levels within ServeWire VES; Administrator, Leader, and Subscriber.

Subscribers are only applicable when using the Generic Mode (no integration with a ChMS platform). We will cover Subscriber accounts in more detail in another article. This article focuses on Administrators and Leaders.

When you initially sign up for ServeWire VES, a default Admin account is created (whoever made the subscription payment). At the time you signed up, you would have received a login email to https://ministryvitals.com/login where you can:

  1. Submit your onboarding form (providing us with the information we need to brand your site and integrate your ChMS).
  2. Access ServeWire VES, and
  3. Schedule a private Zoom training call.

Accessing ServeWire VES is easily done through the members area at https://ministryvitals.com/members.  You can also access the application directly from your custom url (example https://mychurch24.servewireapps.com).  This url is created automatically when you first subscribe to ServeWire.  This is where you can login and access the admin functions of the platform.

IMPORTANT TIP: If accessing the application directly (bypassing Ministry Vitals), make sure you use the unique url with the subdomain and NOT the main url.

https://mychurch24.servewireapps.com, NOT https://servewireapps.com.

Creating Additional Administrator Accounts

You can create additional Administrator accounts for church department staff members as follows.

In the main navigation menu, click "Users".  Here you will see a list of all users currently in the system.

To add another user, click on the green  "New User" button.

In the popup screen, enter the information for the new user.

Select a role for the user.  A user may be an Administrator, or a Leader.  Leader roles don't have quite the same superpower as and Administrator; they can create positions and view results, but they can't edit or delete your tests, general settings, or user accounts (a Leader is useful for someone who is a lay leader in your church but not a paid staff member).

New Users will receive an automated email containing their unique login credentials (this email can be customized by clicking on the blue "Welcome Email Template" button.

MORE IMPORTANT TIPS:

  1. All additional users will be required to login using the unique URL created for your church.
  2. No user can login directly to https://servewireapps.com.
  3. Only the administrator who initially subscribed to ServeWire can access the members area of https://ministryvitals.com.

Creating Leader Accounts

You can create "Leader" accounts for your leaders to be able to create volunteer positions within ServeWire VES.  Each Leader account can only access the Positions screen.

Click on "Users' in the navigation bar.  Here you can manage all of the users you add, as well as any users that are automatically created when they complete a test.

Click on the green "New User" button.  Enter the email address, first name, last name, and then select the role 'Leader' from the dropdown menu.   Now check the box for 'Active', and check the box for 'Send default login email' (make sure you customized the welcome email under the blue 'Welcome Email Template' button).

Once added, that person will then receive an automated email with login details to be able to access ServeWire VES.  Refer them to this procedure for creating new volunteer positions.
